Topic maps are a natural fit for Information Architects since they're all
about metadata.
So how can you use topicmaps when developing your information architecture?
It's a good question, and not much work has been done on this yet.
- Topic maps could form the basis of the metadata for a website.
- You would probably not use all the available metadata in a topic map on a
website.
- You can drive a lot of the navigation directly from the topic map.
- But how that would work depends on the site...
So using topic maps really
separates metadata from navigation
in a pretty hardcore way.
