ISO 13250, last published in 2003 specifies 2 syntaxes for the interchange of TopicMaps:
1) The first is based on the ISO 10744 meta document type definition and is itself specified as a metadocument type definition
2) The second, called XTM is specified as an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) document type definition.
